The Shrine
of the Báb, as seen from, the 8th
level of the Bahá'í Garden
and Terraces on Mt. Carmel, Haifa, Israel
with the lights of Haifa below.
"The
beauty and magnificence of the Gardens and
Terraces... are symbolic of the
transformation which is destined to occur
both within the hearts of the world's
peoples and in the physical environment of
the planet."
"The
gardens which surround that structure , in
their rich variety of colors and plants,
are a reminder that the human race can
live harmoniously in all its diversity.
The light that shines from the central
edifice is a beacon of hope to the
countless multitudes who year for a life
that satisfies the soul as well as the
body."
The 19
terraces, 1 kilometer in length, were
officially opened in May 2001.
